Choma Municipal Council Town Clerk Davies Musenge has officially launched the Youth Climate Action Fund (YCAF), opening an opportunity for young people in Choma to come up with practical solutions to climate and environmental challenges in their communities.
The programme, supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, targets young people aged 15 to 24 and will fund youth-led projects that address key issues such as waste management and recycling, tree planting and environmental pressures, and climate education and awareness.
Successful applicants will receive grants ranging from US$1,000 to US$5,000, together with technical support to help turn their ideas into actual projects.
Mr Musenge encouraged young people to take advantage of the opportunity and come forward with ideas that can make a difference in their communities.
Applications can be collected physically from the office of the director planning and submitted physically at Choma Municipal Council or online by scanning the QR code, with the deadline set for Friday, 11 September 2026.
